Meet the kids at St Marcellin's

Here are some of the children who are currently resident at St Marcellin's Children's Village. As you can see they are a happy bunch, typical kids really. It's easy to forget they are growing up in a difficult environment and have limited access to free state education.

Angie

Angie — Angie is a lovely, caring person with a great sense of humour. She makes beautiful jewellery and loves beading by hand. This, despite the fact that she is blind. Angie is 27 years old.

Anna

Anna — Hello, I am Anna, I am a rugby player at school and I also like swimming and dancing. I am interested in cooking and dressing up. I enjoy spending my time with my sister Angie and I love helping with the smaller children. Anna is 24 years old.

Bryan

Bryan — Bryan has really improved in school. He loves dancing to music, especially fast music. He is a big fan of soccer and cricket. Bryan is 22 years old.

Faishana

Faishana — Hello, I am Faishana, I am a very active and busy body. I am always making jokes and teasing others. I love dancing, both traditional and modern music. I have done so well at my school and I got a prize for progress. I love my food so much. Faishana is 25 years old.

Grace

Grace — Hie there, my name is Grace, I love running around and playing with my elder brothers and sisters. Grace is 12 years old.

Marcellina

Marcellina — Marcellina was always dressed like a dolly when she was little by the older children and has turned out to be a complete tomboy always playing wiht the boys. Loves school and does very well. Marcellina is 17 years old.

Mitchell

Mitchell — Mitchell loves singing. She is a member of the junior English choir at the church. She likes playing with babies and enjoys swimming and playing ball games. She also enjoys the company of my elder sisters. Mitchell is 24 years old.

Munashe

Munashe — Hello, I am Munashe, I am a vey hard worker at school. I enjoy gardening with my house mother. I am into football. I love dancing to music and watching TV. Munashe is 20 years old.

Munya

Munya — Hello, I am Munya in short, I am a young man who is more interested in music. I enjoy soccer and cricket as well as tennis. I am very good in computers and I got a prize for the best computer student. I try my best at school. I am an Alter server at the church. Munya is 25 years old.

Nancy

Nancy — Hi my name is Nancy, I am a very caring little girl who is also determined to work hard at school . I love helping around with the house chores. I like hair dressing and I like wearing dresses mostly. Nancy is 20 years old.

Nevermind

Nevermind — Never likes rugby and also likes playing soccer. He spend a lot of his time drawing as he is an artistic young man and wants a career in drawing. He is always smiling and is an Alter server at church. Nevermind is 26 years old.

Panashe M

Panashe M — Panashe is really good at football and likes to hang out with the older boys. Used to be incredibly quiet and shy, but now has a tendency to get into mischief to try and attract the big boys attention. Struggles at school. Panashe M is 23 years old.

Panashe S

Panashe S — Panashe is a very bright boy at school and loves doing my homework. He loves singing. Panashe S is 18 years old.

Precious

Precious — Precious is determined to be a doctor and working really hard at school. Wants to be a successful female professional but swears she will take time out to bring up her children. She is a lovely, smiley and helpful girl and would be well suited to her chosen profession. Precious is 26 years old.

Primrose

Primrose — Hello, I am Primrose, I am a glamorous girl who is keen on fashion and style. I am a hard working child both at school and at home. I love dancing and my sport is cricket. Primrose is 21 years old.

Tadiwa

Tadiwa — Tadiwa is always happy and laughing and has little time to be serious at school. Loves traditional dancing. Tadiwa is 20 years old.

Tafadzwa

Tafadzwa — Hie, I am Tafadzwa, I am a very musical young man who is very good in playing instruments such as the piano and guitar. I like playing soccer and listening to music. I enjoy fixing broken things. I am also an Alter sever at church. Tafadzwa is 26 years old.

Tino

Tino — My name is Tino in short, I enjoy playing soccer but I also like hockey. I am a very clever boy who is always busy doing anything that I find interest in. I get along so well with my brothers and sisters. Tino is 20 years old.

Todii

Todii — Todii loves shining the floors to make his house look nice and enjoys packing his clothes and helping in the central kitchen. He interacts well with his brothers and sisters and likes it most when they are all playing soccer together. Todii is 18 years old.

Tsitsi

Tsitsi — Hie, I am Tsitsi, I like fashion and style, my favourite colours are luminous green and peach. I also like reading novels. I will be writing my O'Levels next year. I enjoy the company of the younger children and the bigger girls. I like sewing and baking and have just got a job in a local bakery. Tsitsi is 25 years old.
